Paying For The Move

Across the Street...
Across the Province...
Across the Country...
Overseas...
L.H. Chapple Ltd. has the resources to handle all of your moving and storage requirements.
Unless prior arrangements have been made to bill your employer (purchase order issued and accepted) for the cost of your move, your charges must be paid at the time of delivery. Your driver is required to collect this payment before he unloads your shipment. To be prepared you should:
- Contact your origin agent a day or so after loading to get the exact charges based on the scaled weight so you can obtain a certified cheque, cash or traveller's cheques.
- If you prefer to pay by VISA or Mastercard, discuss this with your moving consultant prior to loading day so they can get the necessary authorization processed. It will be necessary for you to sign an actual credit card merchant slip before we can complete the transaction. This can be done at your local Atlas agent's office. In some instances, your moving consultant may be able to bring a portable imprinter to your home.
Tax Deductibility
If you are moving 40km or more to start a new job or business or to attend school (and are paying for the move yourself), you should contact the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency at 1-800-959-2221 and ask for the "Moving Expenses Claims" form or visit their website at www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca . |
